In Villpuram and Thiruvannamalai districts, for centuries, the Arunthathiyars and marginalized communities are deprived of their education due to their poor economic conditions and social exclusion. Knowing the situation, a thorough study was done by the Jesuits in the locality of the mission area. As a strategy to empower the student community, the Arrupe Boy’s Hostel was founded in 2002, which served as a platform to bring them to the mainstream in par with others.
